The MuayThai Premier League held their inaugural event "Stars & Stripes" in Long Beach, California on September 2, 2011. With a stacked fight card, this was definitely the biggest MuayThai event to come through The United States.
Top fighters from all over the world came through California for Round 1 - every match could have been a main event in their own right. Buakaw won the WMC World Title against heavy-hitter Warren Stevelmans, and Baxter Humby's spinning back kick KO against Zidov Akuma for the WMC Intercontinental Title was featured on ESPN's Top 10 Plays of The Week. Celebrities in attendance tweeted all night about the great show they were at.
